The author of Vinland Saga and Planetes Makoto Yukimura is coming to Animefest 2027!
For twenty years, he wrote the story of Thorfinn, a young Viking who lived for revenge. Ultimately, he came to ask whether it is possible to live without violence. The result is one of the most acclaimed manga series of recent decades, which has also been adapted into an anime and has been loved by fans all over the world.
His debut novel, Planetes, took us into the orbit amongst space debris collectors. A different world, the same question: what does it mean to live a meaningful life? For this manga, he won the Seiun Award, one of Japan’s most prestigious science fiction awards.
He’ll be visiting Central Europe for the very first time, and we’ll be welcoming him together with Nakladatelství Crew, which is publishing the Vinland Saga in Czech language.
