Our Artist Alley guest of honor for this year will be Kabujiro – an Austrian illustrator and calligrapher inspired by Japanese art, history and mythology. They have been sharing their work online and exhibiting at conventions since 2017.
Their work focuses on the intersection between modern Japanese pop culture and traditional practices and design. They have studied Japanology at the University of Vienna and are currently working on their master's degree at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. As a founding member of the Vienna Doodle Group, they have organized and participated in weekly art meetups and events for aspiring and established artists in and around Vienna.
